Football in Bracknell wishes both FC Fernhill and Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW as they fly the Bracknell Sunday League flag in this weekend’s Berks & Bucks Sunday Intermediate quarter-final ties. Wokingham’s reward for beating fellow Premier Division side William Twigg in the last round is a tough away tie with Aylesbury Flooring (Chesham Sunday League) whilst Fernhill travel to play Eagle Athletic.

In the Premier Division, the fixture between Finchampstead Athletic (4th) and the in-form FC Meta (2nd) takes centre stage with both teams looking to win to keep the pressure up on top team Crowthorne Inn who travel to play Golden Farmer Rangers. The other fixture this weekend sees Morale Madrid entertain 3rd placed William Twigg Vets.

With defeat for Loveman United last weekend in Division 1 WAB, a staggering 13 points clear at the top of the Division, now look very strong favourites to lift he title and this weekend travel to play Winkfield. Raglan (3rd) will look to take advantage of Lovemans defeat last weekend but face a stern challenge from AFC Crowthorne (4th). Loveman will look to get their challenge back on track but face a tricky little away fixture against Berkshire All Stars. Binfield Royals (6th) will still consider themselves capable of challenging at least for a top 3 finish with games in hand, face Hurricanes whilst a resurgent Finchampstead Athletic Reserves (5th) could make yet further progress up the table with a win against bottom team Sandhurst FFC.

Top billing in this weekend’s Division 2 fixtures goes to Athletico Ascot (3rd) versus top team Woodley United whilst Warfield United in 2nd position travel to Ashridge Park Royals (6th). With only 2 points separating the top 3, positions could be traded following this weekend’s results.

Goal difference of +16 goals separate the top 2 in Division 3 of Woodley Saints and WAB Reserves. Fresh off the back of last weekend’s impressive win in the County Junior Trophy Saints entertain Winnersh Rangers (4th) whilst WAB Reserves host Bearwood Wanderers (5th). With plenty of games in hand Silver Birch (6th) will look to continue their charge up the table this weekend with a home fixture against Winnersh Town (8th).

Having got off to a strong start in Division 4, the form of Crownwood Dukes (4th) seems to have escaped them either side of the Christmas break but there’s still time to re-ignite their season and this weekend sees them take on Bracknell Royals (3rd) who themselves will look to keep their challenge alive. Big game for both teams!!! Elsewhere, Silver Birch A (2nd) take on Bracknell Titans where a win for Birch will take them back to the top of the Division.

FiB correspondent Tony Hardy predicts:

  • FC Meta to win the big game in the Premier Division
  • WAB to stretch further clear in Division 1
  • Warfield to regain top spot in Division 2
  • Silver Birch A to go back to the top of Division 4
