This week we preview some big cup games as well as what we consider to be the most significant games in each Bracknell Town & District Sunday League division.

It’s been three months since the tie was first scheduled and, at long last, the one remaining quarter-final tie in the League Senior Cup between Bracknell Cavaliers and Golden Farmer Rangers, will be played this weekend. The winner of the tie will join FC Fernhill, FC Meta and Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW in the semi-finals.

In the League Junior Cup the second semi-final is to be contested between a bang in-form Woodley Saints, top of Division 3, and Newbold College of Division 2 for the right to play Bearwood Wanderers in the Final.

Raglan, the only Bracknell Sunday League team that remains in County Competition, and unbeaten in Division 1, travel the relatively short distance to play Pangbourne and Basildon Barbarians in the semi-final of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup.

League action

Competition for the Premier Division is set to ignite as this weekend as the top two go toe to toe. Crowthorne Inn, top and clear by 4 points, travel to play Finchampstead Athletic (2nd). Finch have a game in hand.

Can anyone catch WAB at the top of Division 1? With 2nd placed Raglan in cup action WAB could stretch even further clear at the top but face a strong challenge from a resurgent Finchampstead Athletic Reserves. If Loveman United fail to beat Berkshire All Stars, WAB could stretch their lead to 15 points with a win against Finch.

Could the lead at the top of Division 2 change hands this weekend? Unbeaten Warfield United (top), smarting from their shock defeat in the Junior Cup last weekend to Bearwood, take on Bracknell Athletic whilst 2nd placed Woodley United, who dropped points last weekend, take on 3M.

With neither of the top two in Division 3 having league games this weekend, 3rd placed Winnersh Rangers, seemingly from nowhere, could close to within 4 points of the leaders if they were to beat Berkshire United.

Finchampstead Athletic A could go top of Division 4 if they were to avoid defeat against Bracknell Titans (top team Bracknell Royals don’t play). Silver Birch A (3rd) will look to put the pressure on the top 2 with a win against 5th placed Bracknell Cavaliers Reserves.
