Fresh from a first ever contest with Binfield, Virginia Water will host Bracknell Town at Stag Meadow on Tuesday night in the Quarter Finals of the Bluefin Sport Hellenic League Challenge Cup.

Ceri Jones’ side were beaten 3-1 by the Moles last week in the Floodlit Cup quarters when thanks to an Ian Davies double but bounced back at the weekend with a terrific 4-1 win at home to Holyport.

They face the cup holders Bracknell who are once again chasing promotion to step four of the English Football Pyramid and have what manager Carl Davies called ’11 cup finals’ in our recent interview with him.

Bracknell have injury concerns over George Short who will be a few days away from a return while Jesse Wilson is out for the season and Justin Clayton remains a few weeks away. The Robins have reportedly added goalkeeper Dan Weait as cover and allowed Dan Roberts to join Berks County on dual registration.

Also in Berkshire on Tuesday night, Binfield have another shot at silverware when they host Flackwell Heath in the semi final of the Floodlit Cup at Hill Farm Lane.

The Moles were beaten in two finals last season – the Berks & Bucks County Senior Trophy and Reading Senior Cup by neighbours Bracknell and could face them again if they get through to the final.

Will Shaw picked up the clubs player of the month award for February after Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Brimscombe & Thrupp and Hill Farm Lane looks in good condition after the weekends heavy snow fall.

As ever, please check with the host club before you travel. Links on the home teams indicate we have an away day guide available to help plan your trip.
