FC Fernhill still top the Bracknell Town & District Sunday League Premier Division table but have been joined level on points in recent weeks by Morale Madrid and Crowthorne Inn. Morale defeated a struggling Panthers team last weekend by 3-1 whilst 2 consecutive wins for Inn (3-0 at home to WAB followed by their 5-3 away win at Athletico Forest last weekend) has catapulted them into 3rd position.

All three teams have 13 points though Fernhill have played one less game. Finchampstead Athletic have slipped to 4th but remain in contention on 12 points. At the other end of the table Golden Farmer Rangers have moved off the bottom following their 1-0 win away at Athletico Forest 2 weeks ago and a 4-4 draw with Finch last weekend.

This weekend’s top fixture sees old foes and perennial championship challengers FC Fernhill and Finchampstead Athletic battle it out for the top spot. Elsewhere 3rd placed Crowthorne Inn travel to Panthers who have still to register a league win whilst 2nd placed Morale Madrid face a tough trip to Wokingham to play Raglan. The other two fixtures see FC Meta (7th) play Athletico Forest (6th) and Golden Farmer Rangers (8th) play WAB (9th).

In Division 1 a good run of recent form has seen Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW, relegated from the Premier Division last season, take top spot. Impressive recent results have seen them beat Woodley United 2-0 and Loveman United 3-2, the latter after trailing 2-0 against fellow championship rivals. AFC Crowthorne Stiffs sit in 2nd 3points adrift of W&E whilst Loveman United occupy 3rd a point behind he Stiffs.

This weekend’s fixtures sees the top two go head to head as AFC Crowthorne Stiffs entertain Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW whilst 3rd places Loveman travel to Winkfield. Elsewhere Finchampstead Athlketic Reserves (4th) take on Berks County (5th). Completing this weekend’s programme Crowthorne FC play Athletico Ascot and Bracknell Athletic take on Woodley United.

The pick of this weekend’s Division 2 fixtures sees 4th placed Woodley Saints take on Golden Farmer Rangers Reserves (3rd). Top team Sandhurst FFC, who remain undefeated, take on Ashridge Park (7th) whilst 2nd placed Moore Close Manor, who will look to keep up their challenge for top spot, travel to Winnersh Rangers.

Bearwood Wanderers, who remain 7 points clear at the top of the Division 3 table, will look to maintain their unbeaten record at the weekend with an away game with Bracknell Royals. Bracknell Cavaliers, who have ghosted into 2nd position in recent weeks travel to 3rd placed Braybrooke Athletic that, on paper, looks a cracker!

Crownwood Dukes occupy top spot in Division 4, five points clear of FC Harmanswater, though the latter have played 2 games more. Crownwood face a stiff challenge this weekend as they play an in-form Bracknell Athletic Reserves. Bracknell Titans, still looking toi register their first league points, take on Bracknell Cavaliers Reserves (4th).

County Cups

FC Fernhill were the last Bracknell League team to exit the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup, recently defeated narrowly 3-4 by Datchet Village.

Loveman United and Bracknell Athletic, both of Division 1, have progressed to the 4th round stage of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup. In recent 3rd round ties Loveman needed penalties (4-2) to beat Datchet Village Reserves after the game finished 3-3 at full-time after trailing 1-3 and a player down. Lovemans goal-scorers were Ed Jackson-Sankey, Ben Poynter and Alfie Sparrow. Bracknell Athletic won their 3rd round tie 3-2 against Hedgerley. Fourth round ties will be played on Sunday 9th December.

In the Berks & Bucks Junior Trophy both Woodley Saints and Winnersh Town have progressed to the 4th round. Bearwood Wanderes still await a decision from County FA after their 1st round tie against Slough United Reserves was abandoned back in September. If successful with the outcome of that one, Bearwood will play Bracknell Cavaliers Reserves in the 2nd round.

League Cups

The quarter final line-ups for both Advantage Printroom Senior Cup and Junior Cup were completed recently as FC Fernhill defeated Raglan 2-1 in the Senior and Bracknell Saint Germain beat Bracknell Corinthians 2-0 in the Junior Cup. Quarter final ties are to be played on Sunday 2nd December.

And finally.. our thoughts are with Darrell (Duds) Freeland, co-founder and correspondent of Football in Bracknell, at this time as he fights to recover from recent major surgery. #CMONDUDS
