Bearwood Wanderers and Winnersh Town chase County Cup semi final spot

Two Bracknell Sunday League teams this weekend play for a place in the semi-finals of the Berks & Bucks Junior Trophy. Bearwood Wanderers, current leaders of Division 3, host Hazlemere Sports whilst Winnersh Town, also of Division 3, host Jolly Sportsman.

Our third team reaching this level, Woodley Saints, play Totteridge Hotspurs next weekend. Football in Bracknell wish all three teams every success in their bid for a place in the last four.

Top game in the Bracknell Town & District Sunday League Premier Division sees leaders FC Fernhill travel to play 2nd placed Raglan. Fernhill’s lead at the top is 3 points. Elsewhere 3rd placed Finchampstead Athletic play WAB whilst Crowthorne Inn, in 4th, play FC Meta. In other games Golden Farmer Rangers host Morale Madrid whilst Panthers play Athletico Forest.

The battle for top spot in Division 1 looks set to intensify this weekend with 3rd placed Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW taking on 2nd placed Loveman United whilst leaders Finchampstead Athletic Reserves take on Berks County in 5th. Fourth placed AFC Crowthorne Stiffs host Athletico Ascot.

This weekend’s programme also sees the bottom two slug it out as Crowthorne FC take on Panthers Reserves.

At the top of Division 2 Sandhurst FFC will look to put further distance between themselves and the chasing pack but face a tough challenge from Ashridge Park Royals (4th). Golden Farmer Rangers Reserves, in 3rd, play bottom team Winnersh Rangers. A win for Farmer will close them to within a point of 2nd placed Moore Close Manor.

With Bearwood in Cup action and Bracknell Cavaliers having no game, Braybrooke Athletic could take top spot in Division 3 with a win against bottom team Silver Birch A. Elsewhere its 4th v 5th as Running Horse take on Hope & Anchor.

The race for the Division 4 title is far from being settled with any of the top 5 capable of mounting a real challenge. Crownwood Dukes occupy pole position and will look to consolidate their 3 point lead at the top with a win against Silver Birch. Elsewhere 2nd placed FC Harmanswater, who have played 2 games more, play 4th placed AFC Crowthorne Old Boys.

In other news Loveman United have been drawn away against High Wycombe based FC Liberal in the semi-final of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup. The tie is to be played on Sunday 17th February.
