Following a weather-hit past two weeks, during which only 5 league games were played, football returns to the Bracknell Sunday League this weekend. Highlights of this weekend’s fixtures include:

– Loveman United play for a place in the Final of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup
– Could Winnersh Town make it 3 Bracknell Sunday League teams in the semi-final of the Berks & Bucks Junior Trophy?
– Can the chasing pack stay close to FC Fernhill at the top of the Premier Division?
– Can Finchampstead Athletic Reserves hold on to top spot in Division 1?
– One win from their remaining 3 league games will all but confirm Sandhurst FFC as Division 2 Champions
– Can Bearwood Wanderers re-take top spot in Division 3 or will Bracknell Cavaliers stretch clear?
– Any one of the top 4 in Division 4 can still finish as Champions

In County Cup action this weekend Loveman United travel to High Wycombe to face AFC Liberal for a place in the final of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup. Elsewhere, Winnersh Town will try for the fourth successive Sunday to play their quarter-final tie of the Berks & Cup Junior Trophy as they relinquish home advantage and travel to play Jolly Sportsman. The winner will play Woodley Saints, who beat the weather and their opposition Totteridge Hotspurs 2 weeks ago to join Bearwood Wanderers in the last 4. Wanderers will play South Reading on Sunday 24th February. Football in Bracknell wish both teams every success in their ties this Sunday.

It’s top versus bottom in the Premier Division as leaders FC Fernhill travel to play Golden Farmer Rangers. Crowthorne Inn (2nd) entertain Panthers, 3rd placed Morale Madrid entertain WAB whilst 4th placed Finchampstead Athletic take on FC Meta. Raglan, in 5th position, will also feel that a strong finish will keep themselves in the hunt for league honours. They take on Athletico Forest.

Top fixture in Division 1 sees Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW (4th) entertain Berks County (5th). AFC Crowthorne Stiffs will look to strengthen their cause at the top with a win against lowly Panthers Reserves whilst a win for Finchampstead Athletic Reserves against Athletico Ascot will keep them top. A mere 6 points separate the top 5 teams though Finch have played considerably more games.

A win for Sandhurst FFC against Winnersh Rangers will put themselves in a practically unassailable position at the top of Division 2. The only team that can prevent them from finishing the campaign as Champions are Silver Birch Dynamoes who would need to win all 6 of their remaining fixtures starting with an away trip to Bracknell Corinthians this weekend. Second placed Moore Close Manor travel to play Woodley Saints who have 9 league fixtures still to play.

Realistically, the race for the Division 3 title is between Bracknell Cavaliers, currently top by a point from 2nd placed Braybrooke Athletic with Bearwood Wanderers in 3rd, 3 points behind Cavs but with a game in hand. Hope & Anchor in 4th could yet stage a challenge but will have to make up a 7-point deficit on the leaders. Bracknell Cavaliers play Hope & Anchor whilst Bearwood Wanderers travel to Silver Birch A this weekend.

Division 4’s Crownwood Dukes will fancy themselves to strengthen their hold of top spot as they take on Bracknell Titans, still without a point whilst Bracknell Athletic Reserves, in 4th place, travel to play Silver Birch.

The draw for the 1st round of the Subsidiary Cup was made last week (Division of each team is stated in brackets). Cup ties are to be scheduled amongst league fixtures over the coming weeks on a knock-out basis. Cup holders are Hope & Anchor:
AFC Crowthorne Old Boys (4) v Bracknell Royals (3)
Crownwood Dukes (4) v Bracknell Titans (4)
Silver Birch A (3) V Bracknell Saint Germain (3)
Bracknell Athletic Reserves (4) v Silver Birch 1st (4)
Moore Close Manor (2) v Finchampstead Athletic A (3)
Running Horse (3) v Bracknell Cavaliers Reserves (4)
Hope & Anchor (3) v FC Harmanswater (4)
Ashridge Park Royals (2) v Bracknell Corinthians (2)
