The two local representatives in the Combined Counties Division One meet on Saturday as Eversley & California host Sandhurst Town at the ESA Ground.

The two sides have met twice already this season, once in the league and once in the Aldershot Senior Cup, with the Fizzers coming out on top on both occasions.

Eversley lost 3-1 at Kensington Borough in midweek and now sit just one point off the foot of the table and potential relegation.

Sandhurst are still aiming for a top 6 finish and while they are 7 points off that position at the moment they have games in hand over their rivals; however, 7 of their remaining 9 games are away from home so they will need to do it the hard way if they are to achieve their goal.

In the Hellenic Division One East there is an important weekend in store for 2nd place AFC Aldermaston and their promotion hopes. The Atomics travel to 4th placed Didcot Town Development off the back of a 7-game winning streak in all competitions but have not played a competitive match in 3 weeks.

Didcot are on form too, having won 6 out of their 8 league games since the turn of the year. To achieve promotion Aldermaston will have to finish top of the table or finish second and improve their points per game total enough to be one top 9 Step 6 runners up across the country. They are currently 10 points behind Burnham but do have 2 games in hand, so either way a win is needed this weekend.

Aldermaston will be looking for Burnham to drop points and Wallingford Town could assist with that on Saturday as they host the league leaders at the Hithercroft.

The game sees the division’s top two goalscorers go head to head as Charlie Silkstone, who has 35 goals in 36 games, lines up for Wallingford, while Burnham can call on his nearest rival, Lucas Sinclair, who has 27 in 32.

This is the last league game at home for Wallingford, so they will be looking to sign off their campaign with a win.

Another team who could do Aldermaston a favour is Woodley United when they take on 3rd placed Thame Rangers at Scours Lane.

The Kestrels are looking to end a run of four straight defeats and a win could see them more into 10th in the table and put some distance between themselves and the bottom two, although they are already safe from relegation.

Thame are currently level on points with Aldermaston but have a game in hand, so a result for Woodley would be well received by the Atomics.

At Summerleaze Village Holyport host Abingdon Town, a side they faced in the reverse league fixture just last weekend. The game at the Abbott’s Culham Road ground saw Port return home with all 3 points after an emphatic 7-0 victory and a win in this fixture could see them climb as high as 4th in the table.

Holyport announced the triple signing of Lewis Pegg, Harrison Cliff and Lewis Wilson this week and all three will be available for the game.
