In the Hellenic Division One East there are two Berkshire derbies this weekend. At Scours Lane Woodley United entertain Holyport in what will be the fifth meeting between the two sides this season but, strangely, the first in the league. Holyport have won all four of the previous meetings and another win on Saturday would leave Port looking good for a top 4 finish. The Kestrels are looking to end a 5-game losing streak in what is their last home game of the season.

In the other Berkshire derby AFC Aldermaston will look to continue their promotion bid when they welcome Wokingham & Emmbrook to the Rec Soc. The Atomics sit in 2nd in the table and are the Division’s form side having won their last 6 league games, however they did taste defeat in the Subsidiary Cup in midweek, in a narrow 1-0 loss at home to Division One West leaders Easington Sports. The Sumas have not played a league game in 5 weeks and have fallen down the table to 7th in that time. They too are looking to bounce back from a midweek defeat as they were knocked out of the Reading Senior Cup 4-1 at Wallingford Town.

In the Combined Counties Division One Eversley & California look to have a tough fixture as they face promotion chasing Frimley Green at the ESA Ground. The Boars sit 1 place and 1 point off the bottom of the table and potential relegation and with bottom side Cove losing in midweek and not playing this weekend, any points would be welcome in their bid to avoid the drop. Frimley are 2nd in the table, 4 points off 1st placed Sheerwater but with 2 games in hand, and as only 1 team is guaranteed promotion, they will be keen to make up the gap and collect 3 points.

After a 3-1 win at home against British Airways in midweek, Sandhurst Town are currently in 7th place in the table with just 2 points separating them and Tooting Bec in 5th with Epsom & Ewell sandwiched between the two. With the two sides directly above them facing each other on Saturday the Fizzers have the chance to climb the table, but they face a test of their top 6 ambition as they travel to 4th placed Farnham Town who themselves are only 6 points better off than Sandhurst having played a game more. Farnham’s form has been up and down of late; they have recently recorded impressive victories over sides at the top of the table but also dropped points against Fleet Spurs and Cove who are towards the bottom. Sandhurst have only lost once in their last 7 games and will be hoping to continue that run at the weekend.

Away from league action Wallingford Town have a cup final in their sights as they travel to Stokenchurch in the semi final of the Supplementary Cup. This is the first of two semi finals Wally will be involved in this season as they qualified for the Reading Senior Cup semis in midweek by defeating Wokingham & Emmbrook. Stokenchurch compete in the Hellenic Division Two East but they have already beaten Step 6 opposition to get to this stage with impressive victories over Malmesbury Victoria and Woodley United. The winner will play Easington Sports or Thornbury Town in the final.
