Mortimer and Marlow United meet at Madejski Stadium

If you are looking for a game to head to on Wednesday evening then look no further than the Madejski Stadium which hosts Berkshire side Mortimer against Marlow United in the Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup Final (ko 7pm).

The two Thames Valley Premier League sides go head to head at the Madejski for the league cup with United arguably the favourites after finishing top of the league while Mortimer finished fourth.

Both teams have met three times this season with Mortimer inflicting one of only two league defeats on the champions in while Marlow won the reverse tie in Berkshire and the Reading Senior Cup fixture.

For Marlow it’s the chance of a league and cup double and an opportunity to bounce back from a third Berks & Bucks Cup Final defeat, they lost 5-4 on penalties to Old Bradwell United 12 days ago.

United last won the competition in 2014/15 beating now Hellenic League side AFC Aldermaston 2-1 as well as 2012/13 when they beat South Reading 2-0.

First Round

Hurst 0 – 2 Marlow United
Mortimer received a bye

Second Round

Marlow United 6 – 1 Burghfield
Westwood United 2 – 6 Mortimer

Quarter Final

Rotherfield United 1 – 4 Marlow United
Finchampstead 0 – 0 Mortimer (Mortimer win 5-4 on penalties AET)

Semi Final

Marlow United 5 – 0 FC Imaan Lions
Berks County 1 – 2 Mortimer
