Poll: FA Cup or title challenge? What are your priorities for the 2016/17 season?

Pre season is almost upon us, player registrations will open with the Hellenic League very soon and before you know it the Extra Preliminary Round of the Emirates FA Cup will be kicking off.

The FA Cup is kicking off earlier than usual this season meaning that sadly for some clubs their dreams of big pay-days and giant-killing acts will be over before the 2016/17 season is out of nappies.

Of course there are numerous other knockout titles to aim for including the FA Vase, but for non-league teams and especially those at step five where the only chance of promotion is winning the league, the FA Cup is the big one, the one where memories are made and great days are had.

Or is it? Some of the best days involved with a club for me were FA Cup days. Reaching the first round proper or a big local derby at home to bring the crowds in – the focus on the worlds oldest cup competition at this level is often fleeting and maybe you would prefer the sustained challenge of a league campaign?
