The FA have today announced the First Qualifying Round for the 2016/17 Emirates FA Cup with ties to be played on Saturday 3rd September.

Of course, we still have the Preliminary Round to play this coming Saturday but should all three of our local sides win through then there would be home ties for both Ascot United and Highmoor-IBIS whilst Bracknell Town would be on their travels.

The Yellamen have been drawn at home in all three rounds whilst the Robins are the opposite having been given away ties in all three rounds.

Ascot’s reward for beating Milton United 2-0 in the Extra Preliminary Round is a home match this Saturday vs. Evo-Stik Southern League side Didcot Town.

The winners of that are drawn to host Ryman League Premier Division side Tonbridge Angels which will be a tough proposition.

Following their thrilling 3-2 win at Thatcham Town, it’s also Evo-Stik Southern League opposition for Bracknell as they travel to Egham Town this coming weekend.

The winners of that are drawn away to Loxwood or Arundel with both being Southern Combination Football League Division One sides which is at the same level of the non league pyramid at the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.

Highmoor started their campaign away at Carterton winning 2-1 and they host the friendly bunch at Brimscombe & Thrupp on Saturday with the winners hosting either Peacehaven & Telscombe or Haywards Heath Town. Both of these sides also play in Southern Combination Football League Division One.
