As everyone should be aware by now (and if you don’t know where have you been?) it’s Bracknell Town vs Binfield in the Buildbase FA Vase on Friday night.

Kick-off is 7.45pm at the Moles Stubbs Lane ground and we are expecting a bumper crowd with the tie switched due to the Robins Larges Lane ground being redeveloped.

There are players, management team members and supporters at each club who have previously been involved with the opponents so everyone is talking about this match locally.

Bracknell were widely tipped along with Highworth Town and Thatcham Town to win the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division but more than fifty days into the season, it’s Binfield who sit atop of the pile leading the way on 21 points.

We spoke to both managers earlier today to get their views on this highly anticipated match.

Roger Herridge told us “We are raring to go after a good lively training session Tuesday night. A couple of injury doubts for us but all in all a strong squad to pick from and some tough decisions to make.

“We go into the game in good form after two excellent league wins over Highmoor and Thatcham. Personally I have an awful management record in the Vase which I would love to improve on this year but the games don’t get any tougher than this.

“We are no doubts underdogs against a very experienced side who have signalled their intent by some of the signings they have made this season. I am sure that one of their targets this season is to go on a long run in this competition so maybe that puts a bit more pressure on them

“However if we keep doing the things we have been doing over the first 6 weeks of the season we will be a hard team to beat. We go into tomorrow’s tie playing well and with no fear so let’s hope for a great cup tie in front of what will be a large crowd”.

Robins manager Mark Tallentire told us “We are looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead of us. Two teams in good form, one top of the table, the other on a seven match unbeaten run, so something will have to give.

“Our players are really looking forward to this match, which for them is a perfect platform to show what they can do in a pressurised environment”.

So there you have it folks, two confident managers and rightly so. One top of the league, the other on a seven game unbeaten run so get yourself along to the match but if you cannot make it, we’ll be providing updates via Twitter.
