For the last five seasons Maidenhead United’s under 18s have ruled the Allied Counties Youth Football League winning five consecutive titles.

Several players from that side are now plying their trade in the Hellenic League – including Jean-Claude Ettienne at Binfield – but this season it is Sandhurst Town who top the table after five matches.

Could the Fizzers be about to upset the order of things?

The Bottom Meadow have won all five of their games this season at sit atop the division with a maximum 15 points – although the Magpies to are yet to be beaten after only three games – with a goal difference of +20 and conceding just three times.

Sandhurst have beaten bottom side Aylesbury 7-0 twice since the start of the season but have also beaten Uxbridge 1-0 in the League Cup although their biggest test against Beaconsfield SYCOB on Tuesday night was postponed.

Who’s getting the goals?

The goals have been fairly well shared around, but Rory Fitzmaurice leads the way with eight while Samuel Henneberg has four and Kane Fitzgerald and Charlie Westell have three each.

All four players are available to first team manager Luke Turkington but are yet to make a Hellenic League appearance.

When are the key matches?

If Sandhurst are going to do it, they will need to take points off Maidenhead and Beaconsfield twice each.

The away fixtures are on 7th November (Beaconsfield) and 30th November (Maidenhead) while the returns are on 30th January (Maidenhead) – the home tie with SYCOB is yet to be re-arranged.

A remarkable resurgance

It is the Fizzers first season in the Premier Division after winning the South Division 1 last season by two points from Eversley & California.

Between 2011 and 2014 Sandhurst finished third bottom, bottom and second bottom of the South Division.
