Bracknell Town Football Club chairman Kayne Steinborn-Busse has confirmed that the Bracknell Town & District Sunday League Cup Finals will continue to be played at Larges Lane.

The finals, a staple of the local football calendar were amongst the final games to be played on grass at Larges Lane last season before the redevelopment began.

There are two competitions – the Senior Cup competed for by teams in the Premier and First Divisions, and the Junior Cup competed for by teams in the Second and Third divisions.

The Senior Cup was won last season by the now defunct Sunningdale & Wentworth while the Junior Cup was played at Finchampstead’s Memorial Ground and won by the clubs Reserve side.

The cup finals have been played at Bracknell Town for decades, but the new facilities at Larges Lane inside and out will be something the majority of Sunday League footballers will not quite be used to.

In the hat for a final appearance this season in the Senior Cup quarter finals are Intercity FC, Finchampstead Athletic Sunday, Morale Madrid, Crowthorne Inn, Hurricanes, Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW, AFC Crowthorne and Binfield Club Athletic.

In the Junior Cup, it’s at the semi-final stage with Berkshire All Stars, WAB, Warfield United and Finchampstead Athletic Sunday Reserves.

It has also been confirmed that the Ascot & Fielden Cup Final, won last season by Binfield Reserves will also return to Larges Lane.
