Christmas may be drawing ever closer but there’s plenty of Uhlsport Hellenic League football to keep you entertained with the odd smattering of matches from other leagues.

We appreciate that the festive season is often spent with family and it can be difficult to excuse for a prolonged period of time so we’ve rounded up all of the home fixtures involving or local sides starting with today’s matches.

Saturday 17th December

Bracknell Town welcome Ascot United to Larges Lane with the Robins having signed seven players this season who have played for the Yellamen during this season or last and both teams will be eager to secure the local bragging rights.

Binfield entertain Highworth Town who are still just about in the title hunt and it should be a tight affair.

There are derbies too in Division One East with Woodley United host Sandhurst Town with added space seeing Charlie Oakley playing for the home side and brother Harry turning out for the Fizzers.

AFC Aldermaston also welcome Wokingham & Emmbrook at Aldermaston Recreational Society and the hosts have surprised a few people with how well they have adjusted to Hellenic League football.

Finchampstead are also at home when they face Chinnor.

Tuesday 20th December

It’s Suburban League cup action as Bracknell Town U21 have a second leg match home to Knaphill with the young Robins holding a 3-2 advantage following the first leg.

Thursday 22nd December

Not a Hellenic match but there’s one local Allied Counties Youth League fixture and it’s in the South Division where Binfield Youth entertain Alton Town Youth.

Boxing Day Monday 26th December

Bracknell will play hosts to basement side Burnham with the Robins expecting to win but being fully aware of the visitor’s recent improvements.

The standout match is perhaps Finchampstead vs Wokingham & Emmbrook with both sides having quality players but struggling to get a consistent run going.

Sandhurst will face Holyport whilst Woodley welcome Didcot Town Reserves to Rivermoor.
