As Bracknell Town gear towards their final eight league matches in a very close title race, manager Mark Tallentire won’t be pleased to see two of his strikers suffer injuries in as many matches.

Last Saturday it was Joe Grant who has suffered a small fracture in his right ankle against Flackwell Heath and he could be set to miss 6-8 weeks which could be the remainder of the league campaign.

Grant has revealed he is drinking milk to try and aid his recovery which is something England rugby prop Joe Marler did recently as he recovered from a broken leg in only four weeks to be available for the start of England’s Six Nations rugby campaign.

Fellow striker Adam Cornell joined Grant on the injury list as he limped off against Binfield last night with an impact injury.

Cornell told us he currently has a very swollen foot and that goalkeeper Mo Nyamunga’s studs went over the top of his boot and rolled his ankle but also that it was a complete accident and he will continue icing it for the next few days.

With Cornell having scored 32 goals this season and with Grant striking 18 times, the scoring burden for the time being at least will largely fall on 32 goal TJ Bohane and 17 goal Seb Bowerman.

As well as Cornell last night, Binfield too suffered an injury with central defender Gary Smith forced off last night – coincidentally hurting himself whilst making a last ditch block from Cornell.

Smith has gone to the hospital today but any prolonged absence will be a big blow to Roger Herridge with December player of the month Smith and Jeff Brown having forged a good defensive partnership in the heart of the Moles defence.
