It’s cup final day for Marlow United and Woodley United in the Berks & Bucks County FA Intermediate Cup at  Larges Lane with kick-off at 3pm. Here’s what to expect.

Woodley will be the favourites

Unlike Tuesday nights County Cup Final between Binfield and Bracknell Town, this features two teams from two completely different leagues.

Woodley will be the clear favourites what with being second in a step 6 division but it won’t be a complete walkover. Marlow are top of the step 7 Thames Valley Premier Division.

Marlow have a potent forward line and mean defence

The Thames Valley Premier Division leaders have the third meanest defence in the division behind reigning champions Reading YMCA and Newbury. They have though scored 13 more goals than any other side in the division with 82 in the league.

Three players have scored double figures led by Liam Bushay on 23 league strikes while Andrew Nicol has 12 and Wesley Sutherland 11. 16 players who have played in the league this season have scored at least one goal.

There’s more to Woodley

Charlie Oakley is the man who grabs a lot of the headlines here on FiB because of his goalscoring exploits and photogenic nature (look at him), but behind him manager Michael Herbert has built a solid side that celebrated promotion to the Hellenic Premier Division for the first time this week.

The likes of Bieber loving Josh Drew and Jake Nicholls have all weighed in with goals along with Greg Beckett while the higher level experience of Danny Horscroft has been vital but looking from the outside in it has been the old cliche of ‘team spirit’ that has really driven this Woodley side on in 2016/17.

We hope you enjoy the cup final!
