Bracknell Town right-back Dave Hancock has been nominated in the Bracknell Football Awards ‘Player of the Season’ category.

Hancock returned to Larges Lane for a second spell in the summer of 2016 after captaining Ascot United to Floodlit Cup success last season and made the right full-back position his own.

The full back made 41 appearances and scored 2 goals for the Robins this season as they finished runners up to Thame United in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division and Hancock stood in as captain for the suspended Carl Davies at the end of the season as Bracknell lifted the Berks & Bucks County Senior Trophy and Bluefin Sport Hellenic League Challenge Cup.

The nominations for Hancock read: “Mr Consistent for Bracknell Town. Never disappoints and is a real calming influence in the defence. Always solid, it allows those more creative players in front of him the freedom to grab the headlines that forwards often do.”

A second nomination reads along a similar line: “Always in control, rarely gets beaten and as the season has gone on, he got stronger and stronger. Dave has been a key player in Bracknell Town’s success this season.”
