Back in March we interviewed Nathan Saleh as part of our ‘New Club Week‘ around his role in setting up new junior football club Priestwood Vale.

The club will kick off in anger in the 2017/18 season but before that, Nathan has been busy finishing up the season with Bracknell Town Juniors where he has been nominated for a Bracknell Football Award in the category of ‘Volunteer of the Season’.

We asked him back in March what his motivations were in setting up a new club, he replied: “We have been and still are until May part of Bracknell Town Football club. We have been there since the summer of 2015 and there have been a lot of ups and downs in this time. What has stayed constant throughout is the enthusiasm and commitment of our players and parents to improving the children as footballers and as young people.”

We received two nominations so far for Nathan, the first reading: “Nathan is currently a volunteer manager of Bracknell Town Lions who won their cup final recently against Sandhurst Royals.

“Nathan has also started hes own team for next season Priesthood Vale FC so lots of new young people can get into football, as grass roots football is what it’s all about and helps young people fulfill their dreams.”

“Has to be said Nathan has done a lot recently even walking 200 miles from Reading to Blackburn he raised well over £3,000 for Daisy’s Dream. He is a true ambassador in the community!”

A second nomination simply said: “Dedicated and enthusiastic coach who really cares for the boys, encourages their progression and celebrates all achievements.”
