The Bracknell Town & District Sunday League came to a close with WAB’s victory in the Junior Cup at the end of May, but what a season of twists and turns it’s been. Finchampstead Athletic Sunday won the Premier Division while their were some tight battles in the lower divisions.

Champions

Premier: Finchampstead Athletic Sunday ended four years of FC Fernhill dominance in the Premier Division, winning the title by eight points, losing just one game and scoring 83 goals.

Jamie Currie hit 17 league goals for the champions while Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth hit 13.

Division 1: Crowthorne Inn lost their final game of the season but it didn’t stop them lifting the Division 1 title by two points from Finchampstead Athletic Sunday Reserves.

Division 2: Binfield Royals pipped long time leaders Berkshire All Stars to the second division title, winning it by four points. WAB finished third before a big gap to fourth of 11 points.

Division 3: Woodley United Reserves were crowned third division champions in a race that changed hands week by week, club by club. The Hammers won by a point from AFC Crowthorne Reserves on the final day of the season.

Cups

Morale Madrid lifted the Senior League Cup with a 5-2 win over Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW. Shane Cooper-Clark hit a hat trick while Lloyd Twyman and Kennie Chamberlain also scored.

The following week, WAB FC won the Junior Cup beating Finchampstead Athletic Sunday Reserves 1-0 at Larges Lane while there was some out of area success for FC Fernhill who lifted the Aldershot Senior Invitation Challenge Cup at The Recreation Ground.
