Bracknell Town & District Sunday League Division 1 side Bracknell Forest have announced their withdrawal from the league according to a post on their social media account.
Formed in 2015 the side went straight in to division 2 finishing fourth in their first season and earning promotion at the first attempt.
Forest had in their own words ‘a disappointing season’ in Division 1, losing manager Josh Fuller midway through the season finishing 10th, winning six and drawing four of their 22 games.
The statement on the teams facebook page reads: “It’s with deep regret we inform you that the club won’t be continued next season.
“After a disappointing season most of the players have decided to move on leaving us with no choice but to fold the club.
“We’ve had a great 2 years as a club and I’m sure all those remaining will be disappointed with how the club has ended.
“Good luck to all sides next season.”
For FiB it’s a disappointing end – Forest had an excellent social media presence regularly updating goalscorers and posting news making our job easier.
There is still time for new teams to enter the Bracknell Sunday League for the 2017/18 season. Find out how here.
