Woodley United have stepped in to ensure Thames Valley Premier League side Marlow United can compete in the 2017/18 season by agreeing a groundshare at the clubs Bulmershe Pavilions.

Marlow finished second behind Reading YMCA in the TVPL Premier and were beaten by Woodley in the final of the Berks & Bucks County Intermediate Cup at Larges Lane this season.

The blues have been forced to temporarily relocate from their current ground Gossmore Road due to Environment Agency flood works despite recently seeing new changing room facilities opened on site.

A statement on the Marlow site reads: With United’s Gossmore Lane riverside ground being dug up for essential flood works the Thames Valley Premier League and Berks & Bucks FA Cup conquerors Woodley United have stepped in to provide Woodley United Reserves Bulmershe ground for the 2017/18 season.

United’s management team are extremely grateful to the Woodley United hierarchy and Thames Valley League for rushing to the club’s assistance.
