CONIFA World Football Cup coming to Bracknell

Bracknell Town FC have tweeted that the clubs Larges Lane ground will host four matches of the CONIFA World Football Cup that will be held in England in 2018.

The club tweeted: “We are delighted to announce that Larges Lane has been chosen to host 4 games in the upcoming @CONIFAOfficial World Football Cup sponsored by Paddy Power.”

The tournament will take place between 31st May and 10th June.

It’s unclear yet which matches will take place at Larges Lane but other host clubs include Sutton United, Carshalton Athletic, Bromley, Haringay and Enfield.

What is the CONIFA World Football Cup

The tournament is a World Cup for non-FIFA affiliated nations, regions and people’s . The federation was formed in 2013.

The CONIFA website states: “CONIFA, the Confederation of Independent Football Associations, is the football federation for all associations outside FIFA.

“It’s a global acting non-profit organization that supports representatives of international football teams from nations, de-facto nations, regions, minority peoples and sports isolated territories.

“CONIFA was founded on the 7th of June 2013, and organized his first World Football Cup in June 2014 in Ostersund, Sweden.”
