Seb Bowerman has been nominated as Player of the Season for the EPC sponsored Bracknell Football Awards 2018 after a fine season for Bracknell Town that saw the Robins earn promotion to the Southern League.

The former Binfield and Flackwell Heath winger has had a superb season at Larges Lane scoring 28 goals in 48 games. Consistency is now Bowerman’s game having scored 22 in 44 last season.

Nominations posted for Bowerman includes this: “Seb had had an outstanding season! He turns up, literally turns up to every single game! Makes his presence known and drastically impacts every match! The energy, passion and drive I see from him is without a doubt essential to BTFC and does not/should not go unnoticed!”

A longer post from another fan reads: “I think Seb is a worthy winner of this award as for the whole of the season (barring two games), Seb has had to commute to and from the centre of London for all his training and matches.

“Often he has had to be at work by 7.30am and has had to work 10 hour days, often not home till gone 10pm. On training and match days during the week, he has literally had to run across London to catch trains to be in time, sometimes missing them, but finding a way to get to games and has never complained about being tired.

“Of course, he has also had a great season, scoring over 25 goals (not bad for a winger), being Bracknell’s main assister, and covering miles of the pitch every game. Against higher level opposition (Slough, Hungerford, Aylesbury), he was man of the match each time, making good decisions and scoring in each.

“He is well mannered on the pitch, never reacting to bad tackles or abusing referees or linesmen. He is quietly passionate about the game he loves and has started every game (as I recall) that he has been available for.”
