Marc Surtees and Nuno Antunes nominated in Manager of the Season category

Title winning Woodley United Ladies management team of Marc Surtees and Nuno Antunes have been nominated for an EPC sponsored Bracknell Football Award in the category of Manager of the Season’.

The pair have led Woodley’s ladies team to the Southern Region Women’s League Division 1 North title as well as the Third Qualifying Round of this seasons Women’s FA Cup.

The nominations received read: I cannot put into words how much Marc and Nuno do for us girls! They are a huge credit to Woodley United Ladies. Starting from pre-season; giving up two of their evenings a week to come and work and train with us! I think its safe to say they were as hungry for success this season as we ladies were! They work tirelessly every training session to ensure they get the best out of us girls!

They talk to us on how we can improve ourselves individually and as a team every single week! They made history by guiding us to the third qualifying round of the FA Cup where no team in Woodley united has done! I would also like to add how special they made the day.. putting on a minibus and laying out the changing room like we were real professionals. A memory that will stay with me for a lifetime!

They have also guided us to two semi-finals (Berks & Bucks and The League Cup) we honestly couldn’t have done it without them! Also we are still in the running for the league which is a huge improvement on last seasons 5th place.

I feel this really shows how much passion and efforts Marc and Nuno have put in throughout the season! Lastly I would just like to add that us girls really appreciate the amount of support, encouragement and time they give to us all! Grassroots football clubs are so lucky to have people like these two in their clubs and I am glad they chose to be a part of Woodley United Ladies.

Another nomination reads: Both Marc and Nuno are volunteers at Woodley and manage us in their own time and we are very greatful for this. They’ve put a lot of time and effort into the team this year which has shown in us recently winning the league. Their commitment to the team is amazing, and we are all grateful for their time and effort. Success comes from not only the players but the managers also, we’ve had a successful season and they’ve played a massive part in that.
