We are delighted to be able to announce that Sky Sports presenter Tom White will host the 2018 EPC Bracknell Football Awards on Wednesday 4th July.

The BFAs celebrate the great people, clubs, players and officials involved at all levels of the game in Bracknell and the surrounding areas and we are delighted that a familiar face such as Tom has agreed to come and host the night for us.

The event – the first time we’ve had an actual awards ceremony – will take place on the Wednesday evening at Binfield Football Clubs Hill Farm Lane Ground.

Tom’s got previous

Bracknell based White – a Sky Sports presenter since 2013 – is no stranger to the non league game in and around the town having been spotted on several occasions at Bracknell Town fixtures this season.

He certainly has previous locally as this clip from SoccerAM filmed at Larges Lane against then Bracknell Town goalkeeper Laymar Clibbon in 2015 shows.

On agreeing to host the awards night, North East born White said: “Having always been a follower and fan of non-league football back in the North-East of England, I’ve loved going to local games in the area this season.

“Not only is the standard of football very high, but there’s a real family atmosphere at the grounds. It’s great to see mums and dads bringing their children to matches and enjoying the football together. And it’s a cheap day out too!

“If you want good football, great atmosphere, and community spirit, get down to your local club!”

The awards

The nominations long list has already been published for the EPC sponsored awards here and this will shortly be whittled down to a short list which will be published on Wednesday 20th June. If you’d like to stay in touch with what’s going on with the awards, and when the free tickets to the event are available then please join our Facebook event here. We will attempt to broadcast a Facebook Live for anyone who is unable to attend.

We would like to thank Tom, Binfield FC and our award sponsors EPC for enabling us to get a ceremony organised!
