2018/19 FA Trophy round dates – from Extra Preliminary Round to the Final

Thanks to Bracknell Town’s promotion to the Bostik League at the end of the 2017/18 season, Football in Bracknell will be covering the Buildbase FA Trophy competition for the first time.

The Robins will feature in the Trophy competition by virtue of being a step four side after their elevation along with FA Vase holders Thatcham Town and fellow former Hellenic League club Highworth Town.

Bracknell will almost certainly start in the Extra Preliminary Round and while we haven’t had it confirmed, we suspect the draw will be regionalised much as the early rounds of the FA Cup and FA Vase are.

Last season 276 teams entered but that number will likely increase this time around following the creation of new divisions at step 3 and 4 of the English Football Pyramid. Brackley Town won last season’s competition, beating Bromley in the Wembley Stadium Final.

That could reasonably mean ties against the likes of Fleet Town, Egham Town or even a reunion with Thatcham. Looking for the full draws for each round? they along with the FA Cup and FA Vase are here.
