Bracknell Town were moments from a famous FA Trophy win on Saturday when Bradley Lethbridge scored an injury time equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Larges Lane.

Lethbridge, on loan from EFL League One leaders Portsmouth scored in the 92nd minute to give Bostik League Premier Division side Bognor Regis Town a late lifeline when it seemed Bracknell had done enough.

The Robins had led twice against their higher division opponents after Liam Ferdinand scored in the 21st minute and Jamie McClurg made it 2-1 from 25 yards, three minutes from the break after Jimmy Muitt had equalised.

Centre back Joe Gater tweeted after the match that it was tough to take so late on. He said: “Tough one to take so late on but looking forward to another competitive game on Tuesday night, up the boys.”

Both McClurg and player manager Carl Davies praised the clubs fans. McClurg said: “Amazing support again shame we didn’t see it out but what a great game to play in.”

Davies added: “Nothing but pride after today’s game, went toe to toe with a very good side in Bognor. Credit to both sets of supporters who I’m sure enjoyed a very entertaining game. Looking forward to Tuesday’s replay already.”

Midfielder Harrison Bayley put the focus on his team mates and said the side had ‘no fear’ going in to Tuesday night’s replay.

The full FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round draw was made on Monday afternoon with Bracknell or Bognor facing an away day at Surrey side Walton Casuals. The full FA Trophy draw is here.
