For the 2018/19 season, the teams involved in the Allied Counties Youth Football League have voted to re-structure the competition writes Jack Craske.

Instead of having four  divisions and a ‘Premier’, they voted for four regionalised divisions to accommodate more local derbies.

This is in a bid to boost attendances to matches by making the fixtures more appealing. The division that will appeal to most of our readers will be the Central Division.

This league includes Bracknell Town, Binfield, Ascot United, Windsor, Sandhurst Town. When you add step three Hartley Wintney and step two Maidenhead United into the equation, it really does make the league a lot more attractive than previous seasons with higher quality opposition for our local teams.

It is understood a play off system at the end of the season will determine the overall winner.

The four teams that finish off the line-up for the central division are: Abbey Rangers, Flackwell Heath, Hanworth Villa and Thatcham Town.

During the opening week, Ascot host Abbey Rangers, Sandhurst travel to Flackwell Heath, Bracknell Town face Thatcham at ‘The Lane’, and Windsor travel to Binfield.
