Bracknell Town are just two matches from playing at step 3 for the first time in the clubs history after finishing second behind champions Hayes & Yeading United.

The Robins just have the small matter of navigating the Bostik League South Central Division One play offs starting with a semi final at home to Westfield on Tuesday night at Larges Lane.

Here’s what you need to know about the game, from kick off time to entry and the other important bits ahead of the game – including the planned tribute to Darrell Freeland.

Why entry is more expensive than usual

Entry to Bracknell Town home games is usually £5 for adults but for this semi final, and presumably the final if the Robins get through will be £10.

The club have been at pains to explain that Bostik League rules mean that £10 is the agreed entry fee for Tuesday night. This is in part because the take on the gate is split between the two sides.

Tickets on Tuesday night are £10 adults and £5 concessions and under 16s.

Is there a tribute planned for Darrell Freeland?

Yes, the club have said there will be a minutes applause before the game. We are hoping supporters in the ground will join us in an applause in the 43rd minute as well. Darrell’s age.

What happens if Bracknell win on Tuesday?

Should the Robins win, they will go in to the final on Saturday 4th May at Larges Lane. By virtue of finishing second the club have home advantage as long as they are in the play offs.

They would face either Cheshunt or Marlow who also play on Tuesday night.

What time does is start, and what’s parking like?

Kick off is 7.45pm. The club are recommending as they have all season that anyone wishing to drive to the ground park in Braccan Walk car park and walk around to the ground.

You can also get to the game by Courtney Buses with a number of routes servicing the ground. Full details here.

What if it is a draw after 90 minutes?

The Bostik League have confirmed to us that tonight’s game will go to extra time and then penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes.

What’s this about clubs winning the play offs not being able to go up?

In short, due to FA restructuring this summer there are certain clubs in the step 4 play offs that due to points per game (PPG) cannot go up so you could have the absurd scenario of a team winning the semi final and final, but not getting promoted.

Bracknell’s PPG is good enough that they are not one of those teams and if they win the final they will go up.
