Social media is arguably a non league clubs best opportunity to promote itself and dare we say ‘publicise the teams brand’.

Of course, anyone can do it, but getting it right and building an audience isn’t as easy as it looks – something at Football in Bracknell we know only two well!

Two clubs doing it right at the moment are Woodley United and Sandhurst Town – both step 6 sides in the Uhlsport Hellenic League and Combined Counties League respectively.

One nomination for @woodleyunitedfc says: “WUFC makes extensive daily use of its twitter account supported by its dedicated ladies account. Activity includes club news, match in play updates and promoting events in the local community and giving recognition to club sponsors. Account headline picture frequently changed to promote different parts of the club ie men’s, ladies and youth teams. Innovative in the way the club promoted the RICC Junior cup final with a five day count down involving a different player picture with play holding up a number of fingers to represent the days to the final. The clubs twitter account, Facebook page and website all interact with one another.”

Sandhurst have made great use of goal gifs this season, so good were they that we put them all in a list here.

The @sandhursttownfc nomination reads: “Darryl Jelly has really taken our social media presence to another level, with GIF celebrations for player goals, in depth commentary on the match and all round good information.”
