Binfield’s former development team manager Ross Weatherstone has been nominated as manager of the season after guiding the Moles to cup success.

Weatherstone took over last summer at Hill Farm Land, taking charge of the clubs Suburban League side, guiding them to League Cup glory.

Since then, Weatherstone has moved on to manage Bracknell Town’s reserve team but the former Oxford United and Boston United professional left a mark with chairman Bob Bacon saying on his departure: “The team has developed very well in the short period of time that Ross has worked with them by producing players to play in the first team and by winning the Mike Bidmead Trophy. Ross has also been active in assisting in some first team games throughout the season and has been a strong supporter of the club.”

The nomination for Weatherstone reads: “Ross was the first manager at Binfield FC to win the Suburban League’s Mike Bidmead League Cup. He also pushed nine players in that squad through to be involved with the first Team. I also believe he is the first manager in the Bracknell area to win this competition.”
