Former Bracknell Town manager Geoff Warner is the latest nomination for the category of Manager of the Season at the EPC Bracknell Football Awards.

Warner took over from player manager Carl Davies in November 2018 and led the side to second place in the Bostik League South Central Division One, the play off final and semi finals of the Velocity Trophy as well as a thrilling County Cup tie against Reading FC.

A former Crystal Palace, Reading and Fulham academy coach, Warner left the club at the end of the 2018/19 season having originally joined the coaching staff in the summer of 2016 from Beaconsfield SYCOB (now Beaconsfield Town).

A nomination for Warner reads: “Took over mid season and led Bracknell to within 90 minutes of back to back promotions. Incredibly unlucky to lose his job and a big ask for the new manager to go one better. Excellent manager and a top bloke.”

On a personal/editorial note, Geoff was the inspiration this season for the regular Friday team news columns posted on Football in Bracknell thanks to his open and frank approach to the local media.
