Football in Berkshire will be in attendance at Bulpit Lane for the Vanarama National League South’s Berkshire derby as Hungerford Town take on Slough Town with both sides looking to put opening day defeats behind them.

Hungerford were beaten 4-1 at Hemel Hempstead while Slough lost to a late Dorking Wanderers strike at Arbour Park.

There’s plenty more action elsewhere on Tuesday night with a host of Hellenic League Division One East sides taking to the field for their first competitive action including Holyport and Wokingham & Emmbrook.

FiB has spoken to most of the managers this morning who have provided team news updates ahead of the fixtures – see the full midweek fixture list here.

Both Hungerford Town boss Ian Herring and Slough Town co-manager Neil Baker have reported no squad changes for Tuesday night’s league encounter.

Herring said he had a fully fit squad available to him while Baker said: “It will be exactly same squad we had on Saturday as none of the players we had missing are back.”

It’s early season cup action for Wokingham & Emmbrook and Woodley Untied. The Sumas are off to Penn & Tylers Green in the Bluefin Sport Challenge Cup and have a couple of players missing according to Dan Bateman.

He said: “Joe Cummuskey is suspended and injuries to Ellis Day and Aaron Rowland will keep them out for a little while. Apart from that we are looking strong.”

Sweetman said: “Team news is we are really looking forward to the new season and face a tough opening game this evening. We are missing a few tonight but still have a strong squad which includes new boys George Lock [not to be confused with Ascot’s George Lock], Wesley Sutherland and 18 year old Jamie Wakelin.”

Ascot United have a relatively short trip to Egham Town with just one change from Saturday. Manager Jamie Tompkins said: “The only change from Saturday is Samir Regragui dropping out of the squad due to a minor injury. George Lock, James Smith still sidelined and Elliott Carey is suspended.”
