Ascot United head to Fleet Town’s Calthorpe Park for the second time in four days for an FA Vase First Qualifying Round tie on Tuesday night.

The Yellamen, were 3-0 up on Friday night when Fleet, relegated to the Wessex League Premier Division from step 4 last season and embarking on a first Vase campaign since 2001 fought back with three second half goals.

Manager Jamie Tompkins was understandably frustrated after the game and said to Football in Berkshire: “It is frustrating that after playing 90 minutes and an additional 30 minutes of extra time on Friday, that a winner could not be decided due to FA Vase competition rules but, we are looking forward to the replay this evening.”

In terms of team news, Tompkins said: “We will make the trip to Fleet Town with plenty of options to choose from. Rory Merrick has a minor injury so he will sit this one out but Jon Bennett returns to the squad for the game. Read the preview on the Ascot website here.

Holyport advanced in the Vase on Saturday after coming from 2-0 down and travel to Milton United on Tuesday night. Manager Derek Sweetman said: “After having a tough game Sunday in the FA Vase, I will be looking to shuffle the pack tonight to make sure everyone gets minutes and we try to catch up with those teams that have already played three or four league games more than us. Still no Dan Rapley, Liam Bradley, Alfie Adam’s and Jon Feaver who is make good progress.”

Sandhurst Town can retake top spot from Jersey Bulls on Tuesday night if they can get past visitors Cove. Michael Herbert said ahead of the Division One fixture: “Owen Davies and Jordan Goddard return from holiday, besides that, pretty much the same as usual.”
