FA Cup team news as Bracknell Town and Binfield face big tests

Bracknell Town and Binfield face tough FA Cup ties on Saturday with Robins manager facing an extensive injury list ahead of the visit of Carshalton Athletic.

Manager Sam Lock said: “We have had the worst luck with injuries the last couple of weeks. I trust my squad and when one players is unavailable another gets an opportunity.”

Bracknell have Shane Cooper-Clarke, Caden Genovesi, Dan Price, Lee Barney and Kai Walters all out injured while Nicholas Bignall and Dan Bayliss will require late fitness tests.

Lock has given game time to new signing Marcus Mealing in recent fixtures as well as youngster Ben Mulley and has Dave Hancock back after being away.

Selection problems of a different kind for Binfield as they head to Harrow Borough. Roger Herridge has Dave Lyons, Jamie McClurg and Idris Kamara back in the squad.

Herridge said: “Joe Williams will was keep his place in goal. Our captain Sean Moore is fully fit and will start and new signing Samir Regragui will be in squad.”

Hellenic League

Reading City make the relatively short trip down the M4 to Royal Wootton Bassett Town. Simon Johnson has brought in Nathan Jones for his debut after impressing for the u23’s but are otherwise unchanged.

Virginia Water head to Shrivenham with a depleted squad. Boss Ceri Jones said: “Three out from Tuesday, joining existing six on the treatment table. We do have two back from injury and suspension. Further 4 due back end september. Future is brighter, but short term presents opportunities and test of strength for squad.”

Chalvey Sports are looking to recover from the defeat against Wembley in the FA Vase.

Manager Matty Young said: “Inconsistencies in squad availability have made each week a challenge and this week is no different. Another long term injury, suspension means changes are inevitable. We welcome back Tom Williams from holiday, Sean Robinson from suspension and with more minutes under his belt, Amin Khomsi will be Pushing for his first start. We look to try and continue our good form against a very good Aldermaston side.”

Combined Counties League

Eversley & California head to Tooting Bec with Johnny Hathaway back from Binfield and bring in new signing Saban Thapa. Manager Matt Angell said: “He’s an exciting winger and also Amnol Rai will make his debut after missing some of pre-season with a knee problem.”

Angell also has Darnell Francis and Nick Cooper back in the squad with Cam Blackie away and said: “Competition for places is heating up and all of the lads are pushing each other in training with over 40 players in attendance across the first team and development team.”

Sandhurst Town are hosts to FC Deportivo Galicia and should have new signings Richard Jones and Stone Muzingha signed in time.
