Bracknell Town are in to the hat for the 2020/21 Buildbase FA Trophy Third Qualifying draw after a 2-0 win over Sevenoaks Town on Saturday but Thatcham Town won’t be joining them after a 4-2 defeat to North Leigh.

There will be just the one Berkshire side in the FA Trophy draw with Slough Town and Hungerford Town exempt until the Second Round Proper while Maidenhead United are exempt until the Third Round Proper.

Bracknell’s best performance in the competition was reaching the First Round in 2002/03 when an epic 7-4 replay win at Fisher Athletic set up a home tie with Heybridge Swifts which was lost 2-0. The following year they beat Croydon to reach the First Round, a 1-0 defeat at Boreham Wood and in 2004/05 they were given a bye to the First Round away at eventual finalists Hucknall Town.

The competition has expanded significantly since the mid-2000s when 220 teams entered with 295 in 2018/19, the last full running of the competition.

But when will the draw be made? An FA spokesperson said: “The draw will be announced shortly after 1 pm on Monday 17th.”

Third Qualifying Round matches will take place on Saturday 31st October 2020.

The winners of the Third Qualifying Round matches will recieve £2,450 while defeated teams will take home £625.
