Elliott Nevitt broke Binfield hearts on Saturday afternoon as the Warrington Rylands number 9 hit a hat-trick in the FA Vase Final at Wembley Stadium.

Both sides were in the Final for the first time but it was Rylands who scored first despite the Moles starting stronger in a 3-2 win.

Liam Ferdinand then equalised before the break but Nevitt made it 2-1 from the penalty spot and he scored his third in the second half.

Binfield had two chances cleared off the line, one in each half but were sparked back to life after the sucker punch third goal with the introduction of Josh Howell, it was he who supplied the cross that saw Ollie Harris almost level after Liam Ferdinand struck an absolute beauty of a second goal, but ultimately, it wasn’t to be on the pitch.

Off the pitch, the club have done themselves huge credit and raised both their own profile and that of the grassroots game across the county and will play step 4 football next season with their promotion to the Isthmian League.
