Hellenic League: Bracknell’s unbeaten run ended and Binfield bow out

Bracknell Town’s 10 game unbeaten run came to an end at Kidlington this afternoon while Binfield were knocked out of the league cup at Flackwell Heath.

Bracknell

Mark Talkentire’s side went to the league leaders and Championship favourites looking to extend their impressive unbeaten run to 11 games.

As it was, the game was tighter than the 3-0 final scoreline suggests with Adam Cornell having a strike chalked off and going close on several occasions along with youngster Seb Bowerman (pictured) also making a nuisance of himself.

Binfield

The Moles bowed out of this season’s Bluefin Sports League Cup at the quarter final stage as title chasing Flackwell Heath beat them 3-0 at Wilks Park.

Roger Herridge’s side were a goal down at the break during a scrappy first half and the home side added two more in the second period.

Elsewhere

Tuffley Rovers failed to improve their relegation threatened position, losing 2-0 to Highmoor-IBIS while Thatcham Town kept the pressure on at the top with a 1-0 win at Royal Wootton Bassett Town.

While we’re talking Rovers, the West of England side face an arduous and ridiculous four games in eight days as they battle for their status as a Hellenic Premier League side.
