Ascot United moved up two places and into eighth place with a 5-2 victory away at Henley Town last night.
After a slow start, Theo Jones lashed the visitors into a 32nd minute lead with a thunderous effort that went in off the underside of the bar leaving former Yellamen goalkeeper Matt Hill no chance.
In first half stoppage time, Henley drew level when Chris Hoood beat goalkeeper after being set up by Grant Kemp.
Jones got his second on 55 minutes curling in a free-kick having been fouled himself.
Jones played his part in the third goal finding Ben Knight down the left and his cross was calmly slotted home by Aaron Berry.
Substitute Louie Gilpin scored with his first touch in the 66th minute following Luke Wilson’s ball from the right.
With just over ten minutes remaining, Town scored their second as a substitute of their own Patick Gardner side-footed home but Wilson restored Ascot’s three goal lead firing through a crowded penalty area.
Victory sees the Yellaman climb above Bracknell Town (who did not play) and Longelvens (who lost) and they sit six points behind leaders Binfield with one game in hand.
