Big scores

10 is this weeks magic number!

Premier Division Binfield Athletic Club made it 18 goals in three games with a 7-3 victory over Division 1 Winkfield in the Sunday League Senior Cup.

Athletic have had a terrific run of scoring and an impressive turnaround after losing 7-3 to league rivals FC Meta three weekends ago.

There were two further nine goal thrillers in the Senior Cup, both finishing 6-3 as Division 1 Intercity FC beat Premier side Bracknell Celtic while a valiant effort by Whitegrove saw them reach the full time whistle level at 3-3 with Premier side Morale Madrid, only for Morale to head into the next round, scoring three times in extra time.

Clean sheets

A rarity in Sunday League so we celebrate the four from the weekend..

A tough morning for Division 1 bottom side 3M FC in the cup, beaten 8-0 by division rivals Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW while Binfield Royals hit Division 2 Bearwood Wanderers for seven without reply in the Junior Cup.

Several clean sheets involving Division 3 sides as Cavaliers under 21s failed to get anything past Berkshire All Stars in a 2-0 cup defeat, Finchampstead Athletic Sunday Reserves beat Woodley United Reserves 1-0 while Silver Birch did their promotion chances no harm with a 2-0 league win over Bracknell Royals.

Top of the league

Bracknell Cavaliers lead the Premier Division once again, taking advantage of their rivals cup dates with a 4-2 win at Raglan FC. They lead Golden Farmer Rangers and Binfield AC by two points having completed their game in hand.

There was no change in Division 1 with all sides in cup action – Crowthorne Inn continue to lead the way while in Division 2 Bracknell Saint-Germain lost ground on the leaders with a 5-1 defeat at Newbold College.

Ashridge Park under 21s took top spot in Division 3 with a 4-1 win at Finchampstead Athletic Sunday ‘A’ – going joint top of the division with Bracknell Falcons who also won – but Park have a superior goal difference of +12.

And finally..

Contributor Douglas King has sent this report in from AFC Crowthorne’s 2-1 win over Bracknell Forest in the Senior Cup.

Douglas writes: “A wonder strike from Nick Walker on his debut for AFC Crowthorne was enough to them progress. Crowthorne took the lead midway through the first half when Michael McCombie met an Andre Jardim cross at the far post to guide home. Bracknell Forest replied before the break with a well worked goal and the Forest ‘keeper Paul Brady was in outstanding form throughout, but could do nothing when Nick Walker found the top corner with a curling strike from the left.”
