Big scores

12 is this weeks magic number!

Depending on which side of the Sunday League fence you sit, it was either a great morning or an awful one in the case of Morale Madrid vs Super Reeves.

The home side won the game 11-1 to go third in the Premier Division. There were four goals for Dan Slinger, a hat-trick for Lloyd Twyman, two for Ryan Coupland and one each for Dan Money and Sam Tighe.

In terms of other big scores, there were a number of seven goal results but the it was Division 2 Berks County’s turn with nine as they defeated bottom side Hope & Anchor in the Junior League Cup.

Clean sheets

Jamie Currie, Mark Harding and Michael Starnes all scored as Finchampstead Athletic Sunday beat Bracknell Celtic 3-0 in the Premier Division.

Finch were drawn away in the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup to Windsor York Club.

Bracknell Forest were at home in the Eric Holbrook Aldershot Cup to Rustwood, and they came away with a 7-0 win courtesy of a Ben Lawrence hat-trick and one each for Matt Davis, Stefan Davis, Dan Pawson and player/manager Josh Fuller.

In the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup Winkfield fired three past Woodley Saints Hobnob in a 3-0 win.

Top of the league

In Division 3, Silver Birch’s week at number one was short lived following a 2-1 defeat by new/old leaders Ashridge Park u21.

Ben and Tom Murray both scored for Ashridge who lead by a point from AFC Crowthorne Reserves.

And finally..

Division 1 Whitegrove advanced in the Berks & Bucks County Sunday Junior Cup in dramatic fashion, coming from two goals down at Beaconsfield Arms at the break to take the third round tie to penalties.

Greens manager Tony Hardy reports: “The hosts took the lead early in windswept conditions and then Justin Swyer header into his own net.

“Josh Woodley forced the home defender to force Beaconsfield into an own goal of their own and Swyer made amends for his earlier own goal with the equaliser.

The ‘grove had a chance to win it late on but a late penalty appeal was waved away forcing the game into spot kicks.

Penalties proved equally dramatic with Whitegrove missing two before goalkeeper Josh Baker made himself a hero, saving three attempts before Jack Gale scored the final kick.
