Five Bracknell Town & District Sunday League teams progressed in the First Round of the Berks & Bucks County FA Junior Trophy including Winnersh Rangers and AFC Crowthorne Reserves. The three ties contested by Bracknell teams rained goals, a total of 27 in fact!
Silver Birch secured their first win of the season with a 5-0 away to WAB Reserves. Winnersh Town, who top Division 3, put Division 4 team Bracknell Titans to the sword with an 11-2 win while Bracknell Royals thrashed fellow Division 4 team Crownwood Dukes 9-0. Bracknell Falcons tie with Caversham United was abandoned and the results of ties involving both Bracknell Corinthians and Hope & Anchor were unknown at the time this review was penned.
Crowthorne Inn moved back to the top of the Premier Division with a 4-1 home win against Intercity whilst last week’s leaders William Twigg Vets slipped back into second following their 2-4 home defeat to Morale Madrid. In the only other fixture in the Division last season’s Champions Finchampstead Athletic registered their first points of this campaign with a 2-0 win away to Bracknell Cavaliers.
In Division 1, WAB cemented their position at the top and moved 4 points clear with a resounding 6-1 win at home to Berkshire All Stars whilst Loveman United followed up their win on the opening day, and in doing so moved into second, with an impressive 4-1 win away to Sandhurst FFC. For the second successive game Alfie Sparrow bagged himself a hat-trick for Loveman. Raglan moved into 4th behind Binfield Royals with an impressive 7-1 win at home to Finchampstead Athletic Reserves. In the other game played Hurricanes got their season off to a start with a 2-1 win at home to Winkfield.

The lead at the top of Division 2 changed hands with Warfield defeating Athletico Ascot in the day’s big game by 3-1 and thus ended Athletico’s 100% record. This week’s featured team Bracknell Athletic stay 3rd after a 3-3 draw with Berks County. Relegated 3M have made a solid start to their season and move 4th after defeating Bracknell Saint Germain 3-1. In other games played Braybrooke Athletic remain rooted to the bottom and pointless following their latest defeat to Newbold College by 4-3 whilst Woodley United and Ashridge Park Royals shared the spoils following a 1-1 draw.
The only game played in Division 4 saw Bracknell Cavaliers Reserves beat FC Harmanswater 5-4 to move level at the top with Crownwood Dukes though the Crownwood side have a better goal difference and one game in hand.
