Bracknell Town winger Kensley Maloney looks set for a spell on the sidelines after undergoing a knee operation according to the Bracknell News.

The paper has reported the Robins youngster is expected to be out for ‘a couple of months’.

Maloney featured in Bracknell’s first game of the season – the 2-0 win over Ascot United – but was pictured on the sidelines during the Robins 3-0 FA Cup win on Saturday afternoon.

The paper has also reported that the Robins left sided utility player Khalid Senussi is expected to return to training saying: ‘Senussi, who was carried off in the pre-season friendly against Chalfont St Peter with an ankle injury. He expects to be back in training within the next week.’

Elsewhere it has been reported (we think by the Reading Chronicle) that former Thatcham Town and Hungerford Town player Gareth Thomas has signed for Highmoor-IBIS.

A report on the the Hellenic League website states: “The Highmoor manager [Marcus Richardson] confirmed that the club had signed former Thatcham player-manager Gareth Thomas. “He will bring much-needed experience to my team,” said Richardson. “He is a good organiser of people and will make us even stronger.”

Richardson also spoke about the clubs perceived reputation on the pitch in an interesting excerpt which reads: ‘However, while being a side packed with outstanding individuals, their lack of discipline remains a problem, like it did last season. Parker was sent off at Burnham following two yellow-card offences, and on Sunday there was a straight red for substitute Sanchez Commock for a challenge in the 83rd minute, having been on the field for only 10 minutes. The incident sparked off a verbal and pushing confrontation among players from both sides, holding the game up for nearly five minutes. A number of yellow cards were also shown by referee Declan Brown.’

He said: “We can also be our own enemy, teams we play against know it and that is what we are up against and we need to switch on to it.”

Gloucestershire Live is reporting that forward Karl Nash will miss the weekends visit of Thatcham Town after being sent off in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round while Lydney Town are looking for revenge when they face Wantage Town for the second time this season.
