Our weekly look at the non league football news making the local media this week includes some great articles in the Bracknell News, Swindon Advertiser and Wokingham Paper.

First up, the Bracknell News’ Dave Wright has suggested that full back Charley Tuttle (pictured) might be one of Roger Herridge’s best signings for Binfield in some time.

Tuttle – the son of former Tottenham Hotspur centre-back and Bracknell Town manager David – was according to Herridge ‘the best player on the pitch again’ after the Moles beat Oxford City Nomads 1-0 at Hill Farm Lane on Saturday.

Wright also spoke to current Bracknell manager Mark Tallentire who suggested that several of his ‘missing’ players may be hit in the pocket.

‘Tally’ was without the likes of Jamie McClurg, Rob Gerrard, Joe Grant and Callum Whitty for the 3-1 win at Royal Wootton Bassett Town along with the suspended Carl Davies and injured duo of Khalid Senussi and Kensley Maloney.

He said: “Those lads who are here week in, week out, deserve better and it’s up to me to come down on that sort of thing because we are not going to achieve our goals if we don’t have our best players every week in the team.”

Wokingham & Emmbrook manager Dan Bateman has been talking to the Wokingham Paper about his new attacking signings. He said: “My main aim was to try and get some forwards in and goals in the team so if we do make a mistake at the back, like we did twice on Saturday, because we’ve got goals it hasn’t cost

“With Ben and Luke Scope as my front two and the other options I’ve got with James Clark, Charlie Scope, Tom Williams and a few others, I’ve got so much attacking talent this year. It’s going to be a matter of keeping them all happy and getting them all firing, which is going to be my problem.”

Highworth Town manager Jeff Roberts is feeling confident with his side sitting top of the Hellenic Premier Division table. Speaking to the Swindon Advertiser he said: “If you look at the goal-scorers on Saturday, there are six different scorers, which shows we have the potential all over the park to score.

“We aren’t just relying on Ash Edenborough and Aysa Corrick to score goals, we can score from other avenues too.

“It makes us stronger as a squad but as I have said, there is a long way to go yet.”
