Our weekly round up of the non league football news making the back pages of the local media.

Bracknell Town manager Mark Tallentire has labelled left back Josh Hennah an ‘exceptional talent’ after watching the teenager score on his full debut against Woodley United on Saturday.

Hennah was a key part of Sandhurst Town’s Allied Counties Youth League Premier Division winning side last season playing 19 times and scoring twice before joining the Robins in the summer.

Speaking to the Bracknell News, Tallentire said: “I remember going to watch a player who was playing in the same team as Josh and was mesmerised by him. He is a superb player.

“He’s got fantastic talent for an 18-year-old, I am really glad we’ve signed him.”

The full interview with Tallentire is in this weeks Bracknell News.

Gloucestershire Live is reporting that Shrivenham have signed former Oxford United youngster Kieran Diaz-Benitez.

Two stories worthy of note on the Hellenic League website this week, the first is the sad news that Wantage Town Reserves have been forced to resign from the reserve league after failing to find a manager.

The Freds secretary said: “”It is with regret that we have to officially tender the resignation of our reserve team from the Hellenic Division 2 East. We did have an expression of interest in  taking it on last week, but that has failed to materialise, and most of the remaining players have now found other clubs.”

The second story is the lighter tale of chickens escaping from a nearby residence at Penn & Tylers Green’s French School Meadows, causing the match between Penn and Milton United to be halted.

Penn secretary Andreas Latte said: “Well, as nice as they were, it was nevertheless an unusual matter to deal with today and we had their company all afternoon. They seemed to feel a special attachment to our Chairman; not sure if they got on that well with the Secretary.”
