Our weekly round up of what’s been said in the media from the last seven days includes the Bracknell News, Wokingham Paper and Windsor Observer.

Bracknell Town joint-manager Paul McGrotty felt the Robins had their backs to the wall following the Robins 1-0 FA Vase win at Lordswood on Saturday.

Speaking to the Bracknell News’ Dave Wright, McGrotty said: “We had our backs to the wall at times and it was nice to keep a clean sheet, although I felt we were a bit fortunate to do that.”

Also in the News, Binfield manager Roger Herridge kept his sense of humour despite a heavy defeat at Royal Wootton Bassett. The Moles were 6-1 down at half time and with the score 7-3 at full time Herridge said: “At least we managed to win the second half”.

The Bracknell News is available in newsagents now.

Woodley United boss James Anderson has spoken to the Wokingham Paper about the difficulties of finding a goalscorer for the Hellenic Premier Division – the Kestrels have lost Charlie Oakley to Sandhurst Town and Ian Davies to Binfield this season.

Anderson said: “We’ve had a few injuries to a few players but certainly that out and out goalscorer who’s going to get you 20-25 goals is difficult to come across.

“That’s where money talks in this league and rightly so. If you bring goals, you go to clubs where you can get paid a good amount and that’s fair enough.”

Windsor’s relationship with landlords The Crown Estate is at an all time low according to Andy Fitzsimons in the Windsor Observer, a situation that has deteriorated over the last eight months.

The Royalists are attempting to negotiate a long term lease at Stag Meadow – a football ground for 125 years – but are currently on a month-to-month tenancy.

According to the report which you can read in full here, the Crown Estate has never been available to meet to discuss terms and declined to comment when contacted by the Observer.
