Our weekly round up of what’s going on in the local step five media, with contributions from the Bracknell News and Bicester Advertiser.

Bracknell Town are more than capable of catching Hellenic Premier Division leaders Highworth Town despite Saturday’s defeat says joint manager Jeff Lamb. The Robins co-boss was speaking to the Bracknell News this week and said: “After a good run of results, this is a little bit of a knock, but we will regroup and pick ourselves up. We are only halfway through the season.

“We will need to go on another good run and we are more than capable of that.”

Binfield manager Roger Herridge is looking forward to having a say in the Premier Division title race with the three main title challengers still to visit Hill Farm Lane.

Speaking to the Bracknell News he said: “We’ve lost just two league games in the last 19 and we could still have a say in the title race as it hots up as the big three [Highworth, Bracknell and Thatcham] still have to come to our place in the second half of the season.”

The Bracknell News is in newsagents now.

Over in Division 1 West, Ardley United manager Craig Adey is unsurprisingly delighted at his sides title push according to the Bicester Advertiser. The Oxfordshire side took voluntary demotion at the end of last season due to off field uncertainty, but the manager hasn’t been shocked by how it’s gone so far.

He said: “The biggest surprise was when we had a defeat, that took a bit of a halt to the proceedings, but we’re back on track now.

“Our last game was probably our best performance of the season.”
