New Bracknell Town manager Carl Davies has insisted in an interview with the Bracknell News that the Robins can still lift the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division title.

The new boss said in the interview with Dave Wright that it was firmly business as usual at the club and a late charge for the title and promotion was still very much the end goal: “If we win our 13 games we win the league, it is as simple as that. As a captain that is all I wanted, and now as manager, nothing changes.”

In a wide ranging back page of Robins news, the paper also told how Monday nights postponement at Woodley United was particularly frustrating for striker TJ Bohane. The free scoring centre forward – who travels from Wiltshire for match’s – had his car off the road and instead took a train from Swindon, but it broke down and he had to change trains. It took him two hours to get to the ground in west Reading, only to be told the game was off.

Elsewhere Maidenhead United are asking fans to select next seasons kit design. The Maidenhead Advertiser reports: “Supporters are being invited to select which strips they’d like to see the side wear next season.

“BLK, the club’s new kit suppliers, have come up with three bespoke home and away kit designs for fans to choose between, and the new kits will be revealed at a special event in the summer.”

Virginia Water manager Ceri Jones praised his side for bouncing back after a first Division 1 East home defeat of the season to Sandhurst Town.  Jones said to the Windsor Observer: “It was a real big morale-boosting win and a great way to bounce back having lost our first home league match of the season.

“We went without five players from the previous squad so it was a real test of our character to bounce back and win on a difficult surface.”
