After the recent weather-enforced break in the season our Bracknell Town & District Sunday League teams will be champing at the bit to get started again and this weekend’s fixture schedule includes some huge cup games including FC Fernhill in the semi-final of the County Intermediate Cup, the first of the Leafgue Junior Cup semi-finals as well as some hugely important league fixtures in all Divisions.

We start by wishing FC Fernhill the best of luck as they bid to reach the Final of the Berks & Bucks Sunday Intermediate Cup but will have to get past a rampant Aylesbury Flooring side that demolished Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW at the Quarter Final stage.

The first of the two League Junior Cup semi-finals will be contested between an in-form Bearwood Wanderers of Division 3 and Warfield United, who occupy top spot in Division 2 and remain the only unbeaten team in the Bracknell Sunday League this season. Good luck to both teams in what should prove to be a cracking cup tie!

League action

Crowthorne Inn, top of the Premier Division host Morale Madrid whilst second placed Finchampstead Athletic travel to play Golden Farmer Rangers. One point separates the top two in what looks set to be a close fought tile race with both FC Meta and FC Fernhill still in contention. The fixture between William Twigg Vets (4th) and Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW (9th) completes fixtures scheduled for the Division.

The top two in Division 1, Loveman United and WAB, go head-to-head. With WAB leading the table by 10 points a win for them will surely place one hand on the winner’s trophy whilst Loveman will know that this will be their last-chance-saloon in the title race. Third placed Raglan, 12 points behind WAB but with 5 games in hand, will look to keep their own challenge alive, play Hurricanes. The other two fixtures this weekend sees AFC Crowthorne take on Finchampstead Athletic Reserves whilst Berks All Stars take on Sandhurst FFC.

With Warfield United in cup action, the lead at the top of Division 2 could again change hands and the stand out fixture sees Athletico Ascot (3rd) take on Woodley United (2nd). Elsewhere AFC Crowthorne (5th) take on Bracknell Athletic (7th)

The pick of Division 3 sees top team Woodley Saints take on Bracknell Corinthians in 5th. Elsewhere, WAB Reserves in 2nd position and level on points with Saints, play Hope & Anchor and Winnersh Rangers in 3rd play Silver Birch (6th).

Top billing in Division 4 goes to the game between Finchampstead Athletic A (2nd) and Crownwood Dukes (4th). Elsewahere, top team Bracknell Royals will look to move clearer ahead at the top with a win against Whitegrove Pythons.

County Cup update:

Woodley Saints, of Division 3, bowed out of the Berks & Bucks Junior Trophy a couple of weeks ago, losing out to The Sportsman by 3-4 at the quarter-final stage. In the semi-final of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup Raglan of Division 1 will host Pangbourne & Basildon Barbarians on Sunday 18th March.

Footnote: The big question is when will the one remaining League Senior Cup quarter-final tie between Golden Farmer Rangers and Bracknell Cavaliers be played.
